Standard Supports Magnus McCrackin, Canada Summer Games Finalist
Standard Scaffold is proud to support local causes. Sometimes there’s a community, organization, or person that just needs a little boost to be able to reach their full potential.
In addition to some of the broader community initiatives we’ve undertaken, we’ve also supported a few equally powerful initiatives by individuals. Someone we are particularly proud to have supported is Magnus McCrackin – yes, that’s his real name.
As a wrestler, Magnus needed some extra support so that he could attend training camps before the Canada Summer Games in 2017.
We know the importance of giving someone the opportunity they need to excel. So often, it’s financial restraints that prevent people from chasing their dreams and making them a reality. So, we infused Magnus with a bit of financial help so he could go to the Games with confidence.
And apparently, he did just that. He sent us a letter after the event to share his results, and let us know he earned silver, missing the gold by just a single point!
The letter, dated September 1, 2017, reads:
Dear Standard Scaffolding:
I am writing to express my gratitude for your support of my wrestling endeavors this summer. As you may know, I experienced success at the Canada Summer Games in wrestling. I finished second in the 70 kilogram weight class, losing in the final by one point. Team Alberta finished 5th, and brought home 3 gold medals as well as my individual silver.
It was because of your financial contributions that I was able to attend all of the training camps prior to competing in Winnipeg at the Games. Without your support, I feel I would not have experience the same level of success that I did. Thank you so much for helping me on my journey this summer.
Magnus is still wrestling, and apparently, still exceling! We’re happy to have helped one person develop his talent and get just a little closer to success.
Great job, Magnus!
Let’s make our communities in Western Canada a little brighter. If you want to nominate someone, please reach out to us to submit their name/organization for consideration.
